Chairman Introduction
Dr.Asghar khan is the first US board certified physical therapist with clinical doctorate degree (DPT) from one of the reputable(A.T Still university Arizona) university in USA.He has 15 years clinical experience in state of the art health institutions in USA,along with clinical doctotare,he also has completed manual therapy certificate courses (Evidence based manual therapy of the spine and extremities) from Ola Grimsby institute in California USA.He came back to the country in 2007 with the intention to serve the country. He joined Riphah International University in the end of 2007 and established a state of the art Riphah College of Rehabilitation Science (RCRS) and currently he leads as Director of the institute. He Started post professional Doctor of Physical Therapy program for the practicing physical therapists in the country to enhance their skills and knowledge according to the international standard and also introduced a research culture in the country .He almost in the 3 years period supervised 35 physical therapists post professional DPT Thesises.He also introduced innovative Ideas to uplift the profession in the country and bring it to the main stream professional education in the country ,the formation of Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) is one of the great achievement for the Pakistani Physical Therapists and he was elected as the first president of the association. He founded the Physical Therapy Research Foundation (PTRF) to address the national crucial issues of rehabilitation of the earth quick, flood and other disaster victims .The mission of the PTRF is to serve the humanity through professional skills and education to enhance the quality of life of the physically challenged people.PTRF would like to have coordination with other NGOs working for the same cause.
Muhammad Mubeen MS ( Rehab), DPT (USA).
Muhammad Mubeen is a physical therapist at
Rehabilitation Center for Orthopedically Disabled (RCOD) Islamabad and
teaches courses in Pediatric physical therapy, evidence based practice
in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at RIPHAH College of
Rehabilitation Sciences, Islamabad. Mubeen has spent past seven years
working with children and adults with disabilities at various work
settings in public and private sector with a focus of comprehensive
rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. Mubeen’s primary research
interests are in the areas of assessment, case management, counseling,
vocational and career development, and community re-integration of
persons with physical disabilities. Mubeen has an active license to
practice as a physical therapist by Michigan’s state board of physical
therapy and a certified rehabilitation counselor by Commission on
Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) Illinois, USA. Mubeen is
also a member of Golden Key International Honour Society Atlanta,
Georgia. Mubeen
received B.S. in physiotherapy from University of the Punjab Lahore,
M.A. in Special Education from University of the Punjab Lahore, M.S. in
Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University, and
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Dominican College, New York. Dr.

Dr. Syed Shakil-ur-Rehman, MSPT, DPT
He is part of high professional team of Riphah college of rehabilitation sciences an integral part of Riphah International University as assistant professor. He served multiple teaching and clinical institutions of different leading universities around Pakistan including ZiaUddin Medical University Karachi and Baqi Medical University Karachi. He was assigned the responsibilities of key positions in these institutions for the uplifting of academic and research activities as a learned professional and researcher.
Dr. Rehman started his career as physical therapist in 2002 following being graduated from college of physical therapy Jinnah post graduate medical center Karachi the pioneer physical therapy institute of Pakistan. He completed his master in musculoskeletal physical therapy and also completed his post professional clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT). Being a professional researcher and true educationist his strive for the extreme perfection lead him to success in Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Ethics and Teaching Methodology.
His area of interest to scientifically investigate the efficacy of different physical therapy techniques currently used to treat variety of musculoskeletal conditions. He is working on the following research projects currently:
- Comparison between General Scapular Mobilization and kelton born Scapular Mobilization technique in Adhesive Capsulitis with restricted above 90 degree shoulder abduction-A randomized control trail
- Effects of Early Mobilization on post operative Infections in lower extremity orthopedic surgery patients-A randomized control trail
- Effectiveness of postural drainage on the inpatient management of adult pneumonia-A Randomized Control Trail
Dr Furqan Ahmed Siddiqi, BSPT, DPT
Dr. Furqan Ahmed Siddiqi is working as an assistant professor in Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences (RCRS), Riphah International University Islamabad. He is young, hardworking, enthusiastic, and conscientious person and worked in different Government teaching hospitals including Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Fuji Foundation hospital Rawalpindi.
He teaches in RCRS graduate and undergraduate programes, enthusiastic in giving evidence based teaching especially in the areas of cardiopulmonary, gender health care and integumentary physical therapy but his main area of interest is cardiopulmonary and he is a research supervisor for that particular subject. He actively participate in the research oriented tasks, his endeavors in research activities of the university is unremarkable. He liase with other disciplines involved and ensure effective communication and reporting as part of a multidisciplinary team.
He maintains accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation in line with legal and departmental requirements and to communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of reports and letters.
His main research projects under consideration are as follows
- Effects of hyperinflation therapy in preventing ventilator induce complications
- Evidence based cardiac rehabilitation
- Effects of pre operative chest physiotherapy
- Effects of costochondral joints mobilizations in increasing breathing patterns in COPD patients
Dr. Arshad Nawaz Malik BSPT, DPT
He is an integral part of competent and experienced faculty of Riphah College of rehabilitation sciences, Riphah International University. He teaches Graduate and Postgraduate students & working as assistant professor. He worked in different public sector teaching hospitals including Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) & Children hospital, Institute of child health for five year & the part of examiner in University of Health Sciences Lahore. He worked as coordinator of physiotherapy and promoted the academic and research oriented activities.
Dr. Malik completed his graduation in 2005 from School of Physiotherapy Mayo hospital Lahore. He completed his post professional clinical doctorate in physical therapy from Riphah International University Islamabad Pakistan. He has great enthusiasm for learning & has a natural curiosity to the research oriented activities. He always maintains accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation in line with legal and departmental requirements and to communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of reports.
His major area of interest is neuromuscular physical therapy; he always tries to find out different treatment techniques, their effects and the comparison between them.

Dr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah
Dr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah is substantial segment of a highly qualified squad of Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences an intrinsic division of Riphah International University as Assistant Professor. He provided his services in teaching and clinical establishments of distinctive paramount universities around Pakistan in particular King Edward Medical University, Lahore and University of Faisalabad. He secured pivotal roles in these organizations for the profound uplifting of academic, conjectural, literary and research projects as a scholarly professional and researcher.
Dr. Shah pioneered his occupation as a physical therapist in 1997 consequent being calibrated from School of Physiotherapy Mayo Hospital Lahore a leading institute of Pakistan. Then he earned his 4 years BS Physiotherapy degree from School of Physiotherapy Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center Karachi the pioneer physical therapy institute of Pakistan. He flourishingly perfected his Post Professional Clinical Doctorate in physical therapy from Riphah International University, Islamabad. Being a skilled researcher and legitimate educationalist his strove for the exceptional excellence shepherd him to accomplishment in Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Ethics and Teaching Methodology.
Dr. Shah is a versatile clinician with 13 years experiences of clinical practices and mentorships during which he mastered and taught advanced manual therapy skills. He proved himself a unique researcher and supervised number of research projects. His domain of concern incorporates effectiveness of manual therapy techniques in diverse musculoskeletal conditions.
